For example, a 480mm radiator can hold four 120mm fans, while a 280mm radiator can have two 140mm fans attached. You will need to check what fan mounts your case has and go from there. It's also

Thin header paint, draws heat from the surface of whatever it is applied to. I believe it is black. Also there are radiators that are black anodized from the manufacturer. If your radiator is natural now maybe the anodize (if cheap enough) would be the way to go. One Finger John, Jun 29, 2012.
I have a cheap, dual 1" core, 26" aluminum radiator with the biggest s blade fan and shroud that could possibly fit. Also have a moroso elec water pump. It does NOT cool a 600hp engine once warm. Do it once, do it right. There is truth in the increased volume/cooling of the 1.25 tubed cores doing the job better. That's what I'm buying this winter.
Aluminum vs. Copper / Brass article by U S Radiator. The thermal conductivity or heat transfer rate of copper is 92% versus aluminum which is approximately 49%. However, the copper fin bonded to the tubes, or water passages, using lead solder is very inefficient and slows the heat transfer rate to just slightly better than that of aluminum.
However, the guys at my local rediator shop swear up and down that the aluminum radiators cool better. Due to the high cost of copper and brass I decided to go with a plastic and aluminum for my Bronco even though a brass and copper 4 row unit came out of it. Again the radiator shop guys swear up and down that this one will cool better.
The choice between aluminum and copper radiator cores often depends on the vehicle's application and the manufacturer's preferences. Both materials offer reliable cooling performance, but the specific requirements of the vehicle may dictate which material is better suited for the radiator core. Number of Cores and Heat Dissipation Efficiency
Pressure Cap Location. There is one advantage that a cross-flow radiator has over a down-flow, and that is the location of the pressure cap. All radiators use a pressure cap to prevent damage to the cooling system as the coolant heats up. With down-flow radiators, this cap has to be placed on the top tank putting it on the “high pressure
good review. i would assume the more expensive, triple pass radiators would cool better than the cheaper single pass radiators. however, unless im reading it wrong it doesnt seem to be an "apples to apples" comparison. the champion had medium profile fans but then you changed to extreme duty fans on the other 2 radiators that you said doubled the cfm.
Great info ! As soon as my new aluminum radiator from JEGS gets here its going in. It would have to cool better than my original 40 year old radiator.I want to put a new AC condenser in as well. Ricks first gen says they wont have any for three weeks.I may try year one, but they are more $$$.I have installed a new 6 blade fan and hayden hd clutch.
The aluminum radiators are less expensive and easier to build, so hence cheaper to buy. The aluminum radiators do usually cool better though because the cores available usually have larger tubes, so a 2 row 1" or 1.25" can cool better than a copper/brass 4-row. But, they do look out of place unless you can get a thin coat of paint on them. Mark.
Pros. Conductivity – Aluminium radiators respond very quickly to a change in temperature. So if you turn your heating up, an aluminium radiator will respond almost instantly, giving you more control over the level of comfort in your home. Perfect if you’re falling out with your partner about the level of heating!
This will allow the fan to create low pressure over the entire back side surface of the radiator’s core. For example, Summit Racing offers a universal aluminum shroud that measures 22 inches wide and 19.5 inches tall that would come very close to a perfect fit on the above example radiator core. You could then mark a position for the fan and
