Another possibility that could be causing DSC problems is a poor connection at the battery. The BMW Assist portion of the TCU has most likely failed. You can code the car and remove the BMW Assist option by adding +TELD to the VO and defaulting the car. This will leave bluetooth functional and remove the SOS error/restore the MOST bus/sound. Thanks for the info.
I finally took to deal again, this time they told me it was drivers seat wiring harness and that was going to be ~$700 ($250 parts and about $450 labor.). This time I installed INPA and reset the light, although through forums I read that some errors could be bad due to low battery. Mine was down to 11.7 volts at rest.

remove the coil connector one at a time while engine is running and if you have a bad coil you won't get any difference in idle. I also have 330i with 69K miles and I just replaced a bad coil. ebay has em for $40.00 each. The misfire is only in cylinder one. I will try this but I'm pretty sure this is not the culprit. 2) Failure to separate oil from vapor. Symptoms: More-than-expected oil consumption - oily crankcase gases are being returned to the intake instead of separated properly.
